Dairy General Assistant - Organic Farm

To assist the processing manager in all aspects of dairy production from milk reception through to products being dispatched to the final consumer.

Following proper training from the processing head, work will include but is not limited to the following;

• Monitoring incoming Milk quality and ensuring Personal hygiene procedures and pre-requisites for food safety are being followed and in place
• Assembly, disassembly and routine cleaning and inspection of specific items of processing equipment according to our SOPs.
• Bottling and potting of milk, cream yoghurt and laban into the various sized formats.
• Preparing Gelato mixes, bases and preparing ingredients according to defined recipes for Gelato production and flavoured products.
• Assisting with Butter and cream production.
• Preparing bottles, pots and other packed items for distribution.
• Batch labelling and traceability recording.
• Producing reliable, legible delivery notes and completing and organising batch records.
• With training to oversee other operators working within the production space.
• Performing pre-checks on quality related aspects prior to despatch.
• Preparing samples for testing and liasing with the Prosessing head, Quality Assurance Manager and Lab Manager to ensure results are reliable and available, when necessary.
• Working with the processing head and quality assurance manager to ensure all SOPs, cleaning schedules and batch records are up to date and properly recorded.
• Ensuring stock of consumables and ingredients is organised and properly maintained
• Monitoring inventory of consumeables, ingredients and finished products across the production process and awaiting despatch
• Fulfilling orders and releasing finished products for despatch.
• Working with the Processing Head and Quality Assurance Manager to ddress compliance issues, non-conformity of finished goods and customer complaints.

The candidate should have some experience in handling dairy products and working within a food manufacturing or food retailing environment. The candidate should demonstrate high standards of personal hygiene and will be expected to communicate clearly in English and in the future possibly in Arabic.

The candidate should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills as they will be required to work with other members of the farm team, and possess an ability to learn new skills and adapt to the changing demands of the business here as we add products and processes.

The candidate will need to be able to read and write fluently in English and also have experience and knowledge of excel and spreadsheets. The candidate should be self motivated and comfortable working alone or as part of a team as the processing environment develops.
