Overview
Gallagher is seeking a Compliance Officer in Dubai to act in the best interests of the company. The candidate will ensure that professional, strategic and operational compliance risk-management is in place and that the business is compliant with appropriate systems and controls by supporting it in meeting its regulatory objectives through delivering policy and advisory support, supporting the local delivery of compliance and operational change projects, monitoring changes in regulation and performing impact analyses and embedding professional standards.
How Youll Make An Impact
- Act as the Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer for the Company.
- Establish and maintain a robust compliance framework within the Company that is aligned with the Gallagher group compliance program and ensures adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines issued by the DFSA and other relevant regulatory bodies.
- Regularly monitor and assess the Company s compliance with the DFSA regulations and establish and implement processes to support the same. This includes conducting compliance audits, risk assessments, and internal reviews to identify any potential non-compliance issues and recommending corrective actions.
- Develop and enforce compliance policies, procedures, and controls to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, including ensuring that these policies and procedures are communicated effectively to all employees.
- Provide guidance and training to employees on compliance matters, ensuring that they are aware of their responsibilities and obligations under the DFSA regulations, the Gallagher Global Standards of Business Conduct and the Gallagher Group Compliance program. This includes conducting regular training programs and awareness campaigns.
- Act as the primary point of contact between the Company and the DFSA and other regulators, establishing and maintaining effective relationships with all relevant regulatory authorities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting as required. Represent the Company and its interests in all dealings with the regulator, including during regulatory inspections or audits.
- Remain informed of any changes or updates in the DFSA regulations and communicate relevant updates to the Company leadership, employees, and group Compliance, as appropriate. Ensure that any changes or updates to regulation are incorporated into the compliance framework.
- Prepare and submit compliance reports to senior management, the Board of Directors and group Compliance. These reports should provide an overview of the Companys compliance status, including any specific KRIs or MI as required, identify any non-compliance issues, and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, including working closely with group Compliance and other departments within the Company and the Gallagher group, such as legal, risk management, and internal audit, to align compliance efforts and mitigate risks.
- Promote and uphold a culture of ethical conduct and integrity within the Company, aligned to the Gallagher Way and Global Standards of Business Conduct. Ensure that employees understand and adhere to the highest standards of professional ethics and integrity in their dealings with clients, regulators, and other stakeholders.
- Investigate and resolve compliance-related complaints or issues raised by customers, employees, or regulatory authorities, take appropriate corrective actions and implement measures to prevent recurrence. Support the Company senior management and Gallagher group Compliance in any investigations into potential compliance-related issues.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the business, working together to find compliant commercial solutions which maximiser corporate performance and minimize financial, regulatory or reputational loss, while helping internal stakeholders to understand conduct risk outcomes to anticipate, understand, prepare for and implement regulatory and policy change
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in law, finance, business administration, or a related field.
- Professional certification in compliance, such as ACII, is preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a related field within the
- Experience in dealing with regulatory authorities and managing compliance audits.
- Prior experience in developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures.
- In-depth knowledge of DFSA regulations and guidelines for insurance intermediaries,
- Familiarity with relevant DIFC and UAE laws and regulations governing the insurance industry.
- Familiarity with regulatory frmework in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- Understanding of compliance frameworks, risk management, and internal control systems.
- Eligibility to work in Dubai
- Must meet the eligibility criteria established by the DFSA for Compliance Officers and MRLOs
- Appointment subject to DFSA approval
