Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Camp Operations & Facility Management
- Maintenance: Oversee and coordinate all maintenance and repair activities for camp facilities, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and AC systems, ensuring all facilities are functional and safe.
- Hygiene & Sanitation: Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation in all areas of the camp, including accommodations, kitchens, dining halls, washrooms, and common areas.
- Utilities & Services: Monitor the efficient use of utilities (water, electricity, gas) and manage services such as waste disposal, pest control, and laundry operations.
- Inventory: Maintain accurate inventory of all camp assets, consumables, and supplies (e.g., cleaning materials, bedding) and coordinate timely requisition to prevent shortages.
Personnel Welfare & Discipline
- Accommodation Management: Manage room allocation, bed space utilization, and maintain an accurate, up-to-date occupancy register for all residents.
- Welfare & Grievance: Act as the first point of contact for employee complaints and grievances related to living conditions. Resolve minor issues promptly and professionally, escalating complex matters to the HR/Admin Department.
- Discipline Enforcement: Implement and enforce all company and camp rules and regulations to maintain order and discipline. Report and document all incidents of misconduct or illegal activities.
- Safety & Security: Supervise camp security personnel, ensure fire safety equipment is maintained, and coordinate emergency response procedures (fire, medical emergencies).
Logistics & Administration
- Gate Control & Movement: Control and supervise the movement of personnel in and out of the camp premises, including implementing check-in/check-out procedures for security.
- Transportation: Coordinate daily transportation schedules for laborers traveling to and from project sites, ensuring punctuality and proper vehicle allocation.
- Documentation: Prepare and submit daily/weekly/monthly reports on camp occupancy, maintenance issues, incident reports, attendance summaries, and utility consumption to the HR/Admin Manager.
- Compliance: Maintain all necessary documents and records for audits and inspections by relevant government authorities (Municipality, MOHRE).
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required; a qualification in Hospitality Management, Facilities Management, or Administration is preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience as a Camp Boss, Accommodation In-Charge, or similar role in the UAE construction industry.
- Certificates in First Aid, Fire Safety, and Health & Hygiene are a significant advantage.
- Valid UAE Driving License is typically required.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong leadership, organizational, and resource management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a multi-cultural workforce.
- In-depth knowledge of UAE Labour Law, specifically regulations pertaining to labor accommodation (e.g., health, safety, and occupancy standards).
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Word, Excel) for report generation and record-keeping.
