Roles & Responsibilities

The Calibration Engineer is responsible for ensuring the technical competence of the laboratory and the validity of all calibration activities. This role oversees method validation, equipment performance, staff competence, and compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, acting as the key authority for technical decisions.

Key Roles Leader of Technical Competence: Ensures all laboratory activities meet ISO/IEC 17025 standards.

Method Authority: Approves and validates calibration methods. Equipment Custodian: Oversees calibration, maintenance, and suitability of instruments.

Staff Competence Gatekeeper: Ensures personnel are trained, qualified, and authorized.

Audit Liaison: Acts as the technical contact during accreditation assessments.

Responsibilities

Technical Oversight Supervise daily calibration operations.

Ensure adherence to validated methods and SOPs.

Method Validation & Development

Approve new methods and ensure they meet accreditation scope.

Monitor measurement uncertainty and traceability. Equipment & Facilities

Ensure equipment calibration, maintenance, and suitability.

Monitor environmental conditions affecting test results.

Personnel Competence Maintain training records and authorize staff for specific tasks.

Conduct competency evaluations and refresher training.

Data Integrity & Reporting Review and approve technical reports and certificates.

Ensure accuracy, reliability, and traceability of results.

Quality System Integration Collaborate with the Quality Manager to maintain the QMS.

Support audits, corrective actions, and continual improvement.

Safety & Compliance Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements

Desired Candidate Profile

Ability to commute/relocate: Dubai: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Education: Bachelor's/Diploma in Engineering

Experience:

Instruments Calibration: Minimum 2 years
