Job Description

An Audio Visual Estimator is a critical role within the audio-visual industry, responsible for evaluating and estimating the costs associated with AV installations and projects. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of audio, visual, and integrated technology systems, alongside excellent project management and communication skills. The estimator will work closely with sales, project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure a clear understanding of project specifications and requirements. Successful candidates must possess a keen eye for detail, the ability to interpret technical drawings, and the capability to prepare comprehensive cost analysis reports that align with company objectives and client expectations. The job demands proficiency in using estimation software and keeping up to date with industry trends and pricing.


Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed estimates for audio visual project requirements and proposals.
  • Collaborate with sales and project teams to determine project specifications and scopes.
  • Analyze project drawings and specifications to determine material and labor requirements.
  • Prepare and finalize cost estimates to ensure competitive project pricing.
  • Prepare detailed bid proposals and work with sales teams to present to clients.
  • Evaluate and update cost databases to reflect current industry trends and prices.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations and pricing.
  • Participate in project meetings to provide insights on cost estimation and budgeting.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies in all estimates.
  • Maintain organized records of all estimation activities and client interactions.
  • Train and mentor junior estiimates in best practices and industry standards.
  • Continuously update skills and knowledge to remain competitive in the industry.

Requirements
  • Bachelor s degree in engineering, business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in estimating within the audio visual industry required.
  • Proficiency with estimation software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong understanding of audio and visual technology systems and components.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and design documentation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interaction.
