Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Welding Operations: Perform welding on a variety of materials and joint configurations using techniques such as MIG, TIG, and ARC welding.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols to determine the proper welding procedure and dimensions.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and operate welding equipment, including welders, torches, and power tools, to ensure they are in good working condition and operate safely.
- Safety & Quality Control: Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and standards. Conduct quality checks on welds to identify and correct any defects, ensuring all work meets project specifications.
- Material Preparation: Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, grinding, and cutting metal to the required shape and size.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with other team members, including fitters, fabricators, and supervisors, to ensure efficient workflow and project completion.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience:
A minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience as a welder in a construction or industrial setting is required.
Experience with different welding processes and materials (e.g., steel, aluminum, stainless steel) is highly preferred. - Skills & Certifications:
Valid welding certification from a recognized body (e.g., AWS, CSWIP, or equivalent) is essential.
Proficient in using a variety of welding tools and equipment.
Strong physical stamina and the ability to work in various physical positions and environments.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
