Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspection, maintenance and repair of diesel engines in trucks, buses, heavy vehicles and related equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults in vehicles and equipment; use diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
  • Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance (oil changes, filter replacements, belt/chain inspections, lubrication) to minimize downtime.
  • Overhaul major assemblies: engines, transmissions, drive-trains, brake systems, suspension, steering systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, hours worked, and ensure documentation is completed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies and regulatory requirements in workshop operations.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of spare parts, tools and equipment; ensure tools are in good working order.
  • Perform test drives, post‐repair inspections to verify vehicle performance and reliability.
  • Work effectively as part of a team and communicate with supervisors/clients about vehicle condition, repair status or additional work required.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • High School diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical certificate in diesel mechanics/automotive trade is preferred.
  • Experience with heavy equipment, trailers, or specialized fleets is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in diesel mechanic role, preferably in UAE or similar market.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, vehicle mechanical systems, hydraulics, electrical diagnostics and maintenance tools.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work in a workshop environment (lifting parts, standing for long periods, etc).
