Urban Planner

The Urban Planner is a core member of the Urban Planning and Design team. He works closely with the senior project team to analyze and develop planning strategies and master plans. He/ She will be responsible for multiple tasks including data analysis, design and reporting. The jobholder is expected to gradually take on and contribute to more complex projects tasks.

Support in developing design schemes, conducting studies and preparing reports on planning or design projects

Support in conducting data collection and field surveys in collaboration with local teams

Contribute to the development of key findings for validation with clients and authorities

Review planning and design studies including land-use planning, building regulations and guidelines, urban heritage studies, and urban renewal projects

Support in the review of road networks and infrastructure plans, as well as public transport and rail plans

Support in the assessment of strategic planning options and conduct comparative SWOT analysis

Prepare presentations and participate in client s meetings, as needed

Stay informed on emerging urban planning trends, policies and technologies and share knowledge with the team in due course `

Develop and maintain relevant databases

Support in additional ad-hoc tasks

Minimum of 2 years of experience in urban planning or related field

Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Architecture or related field (Master s degree preferred)

Strong knowledge of principles and theories of urban planning

Creative and analytical thinking

Good communication skills

Research oriented

Report writing and presentation skills

Proficiency in both Arabic and English
