Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assess risk by analyzing applications, financial statements, and supporting documentation for motor and non-motor insurance policies, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Evaluate and determine appropriate premiums, coverage terms, and conditions based on risk assessment, adhering to underwriting guidelines and company policies.
  • Investigate and analyze claims data, loss experience, and market trends to identify potential risks and recommend adjustments to underwriting strategies.
  • Manage a portfolio of motor and non-motor insurance policies, monitoring performance, and making recommendations for renewals, cancellations, or modifications.
  • Collaborate with brokers, agents, and other stakeholders to gather information, clarify policy terms, and build strong relationships.
  • Review and approve policy changes, endorsements, and renewals, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and underwriting standards.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior underwriters and support staff on complex underwriting issues and risk assessment.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Has a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in motor and non-motor underwriting, with a proven track record of success.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of insurance principles, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Exhibits a solid understanding of risk assessment techniques, financial analysis, and policy interpretation.
  • Proficient in using underwriting systems, databases, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Displays excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Possesses strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to interact with stakeholders effectively.
