Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design tunnel and bridge structures, considering geological conditions, load calculations, and safety regulations, ensuring structural integrity and longevity.
  • Oversee the development of construction plans, specifications, and detailed drawings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams for seamless project execution.
  • Conduct site investigations and assessments, analyzing soil mechanics, geotechnical data, and environmental impacts, to inform design decisions.
  • Manage and supervise construction activities, ensuring adherence to design specifications, quality control standards, and project timelines on-site.
  • Perform structural analysis and modeling using specialized software, evaluating performance under various loads and conditions.
  • Evaluate and mitigate risks associated with tunnel and bridge construction, including ground movement, water ingress, and seismic activity.
  • Prepare and review project documentation, including technical reports, progress updates, and cost estimations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies, to facilitate effective communication and project alignment.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and relevant codes, continuously improving design and construction methodologies.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance throughout the project lifecycle, mentoring junior engineers and contributing to knowledge sharing.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Possesses Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Holds a Professional Engineer (PE) license, demonstrating the necessary qualifications and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the design and construction of tunnels and bridges, demonstrating a proven track record.
  • Certified in relevant areas like bridge inspection or tunneling safety, showcasing specialized knowledge.
  • Experience in working on projects in the Middle East, understanding the local regulations and environment.
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken, for effective communication within international teams.
  • Expertise in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, MIDAS), demonstrating technical proficiency.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, capable of handling complex engineering challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrates physical ability to work on-site and in challenging environments, ensuring project execution.
