Roles & Responsibilities


Job Purpose:

Plan, direct, and lead the development and implementation of cash management activities and treasury management activities within RUA s strategy to ensure the availability of adequate liquidity to meet the short and long-term financial requirements and warrant optimal allocation and utilization of funds within set risk levels, policies, and regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and direct the implementation of the department strategy, ensuring alignment to divisional strategy, RUA s vision, mission, and corporate objectives.
  • Lead the effective achievement of the department objectives by setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing, and motivating employees to maximize individual and functional performance.
  • Define, establish, and maintain Treasury policies, processes, framework, guidelines, controls, and tools, taking into consideration industry best practices, and monitor compliance regularly to act as required to ensure effective financial management.
  • Provide comprehensive Cash flow planning support to different business units by supporting the preparation of the budget, monitoring performance in a timely manner, and ensuring that proper controls are in place for smooth processing services
  • Identify and conduct analysis on material Cash budget discrepancies and report any such discrepancies and analysis to senior management to ensure all discrepancies are resolved in an adequate and timely manner.
  • Ensure the completion of periodic reports on the Cash position versus budget, manage the periodic tracking of Cash flow performance against financial plans for RUA, and provide reports to the executive management team with financial results and variance analyses to ensure critical issues and appropriate corrective measures are identified and recommended.
  • Advise on the strategic fit and relevance of any spin-off potential subsidiaries acquisition, divestment, and new business development opportunity to ensure consistency with corporate and RUA s mission and strategy objectives, and support the negotiations of such projects and opportunities.
  • Manage financial risks by identifying and assessing key drivers of financial risk, measuring risk, and monitoring exposures and movements in risk factors in coordination with relevant parties.
  • Oversee the performance of regular evaluation of the corporate financial structure of RUA and identify funding structures, options, and sources of capital in relevance to ongoing plans and projects, and provide relevant reports to Senior Management to make informed decisions on corporate and project financing.
  • Monitor cash positions of RUA and prepare periodic financial reports on cash positions, liquidity statements, and the projects versus budgets in coordination with the CFO to provide the senior leadership with informed updates on cash positions of RUA.
  • Plan, monitor, and manage the efficient utilization of cash and financial services in a manner consistent with RUA s objectives and strategic direction.
  • Lead treasury activities related to cash flow and borrowings, as well as allocating cash balance, maintaining investment records, and preparing expense earnings forecasts.
  • Liaise with various departments to plan cash requirements and investment of surplus funds, and manage the cash investment/maturity transaction process and cash investment portfolio to ensure adequate funds are available.
  • Acquire market intelligence and ensure effective management of working capital and surplus funds to ensure that optimal returns are achieved, and appropriate fund management procedures are in place at an appropriate and agreed level of risk.
  • Build and maintain working relationships with banks and oversee the provision of bank-related activities, including opening/ closing bank accounts, to ensure smooth banking services are attained at an organizational level.
  • Identify and recommend new financial services available from banks and other financial services providers. Work collaboratively with other groups within Finance and other areas of the company as required to implement new financial services.
  • Invest expendable funds within the framework established by RUA policies and procedures
  • Implement business process improvements to achieve efficiency and to leverage technologies. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and services in the Treasury area with a view towards continuous improvement
  • Provide oversight for the company's insurance program, including ensuring that appropriate insurance coverage is in place to cover the company s assets and business activities
  • Assessment of credit worthiness of potential and existing customers or vendors, including determining credit limits and payment terms.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree in finance, or any other related field.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in the related field.
  • Professional certifications or a master s degree are preferred
