Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement efficient transportation strategies that align with company goals and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Oversee daily operations of transport fleets, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to schedules.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and logistics partners to enhance service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation laws, safety regulations, and company policies to mitigate risks.
  • Analyze transport data to identify areas for improvement and implement data-driven solutions.
  • Plan and coordinate preventative maintenance for vehicles to minimize downtime and extend fleet life.
  • Lead and mentor a team of drivers and logistics staff, fostering a culture of safety and performance excellence.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for transportation operations, ensuring financial efficiency and cost control.
  • Monitor fuel consumption and implement strategies to reduce costs and improve sustainability.
  • Utilize technology and software solutions to streamline operations and enhance communication within the team.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation management or logistics, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Proven track record in managing fleets and optimizing logistics operations for cost-efficiency.
  • Strong understanding of local and international transportation regulations and compliance standards.
  • Fluency in English is a must; proficiency in additional languages is a valuable asset.
  • Expertise in transport management software and tools for route optimization and fleet tracking.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions quickly.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage teams and drive performance.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
