Position: Temporary Works Manager
Qualifications & Requirements:
BSc in Civil Engineering.
Completed Temporary Works (TW) Manager course.
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and safety standards.
Proven ability to manage and coordinate temporary works on large projects.
Temporary Work Manager
1. Ensure any temporary works have the necessary design and are installed in
accordance with the design.
2. Responsible for ensuring that Temporary Works Procedures are implemented on
site at all times.
3. First point of contact between the designers (whether internal or external) and
the site team.
4. Co-ordinate all Temporary Works activities.
5. Liaise between all relevant parties, e.g., Construction Director/Contracts
Manager, Project Manager, Site Manager, Permanent Works Engineer/Designer
and Temporary Works Design Engineer.
6. Ensure that a proper and adequate Temporary Works Design Brief (TWDB) or a
standard design solution has been established and is suitable for actual site
conditions.
7. Ensure that checks are made at appropriate stages covering the more critical
factors.
8. Ensure that the Temporary Works Design Brief (TWDB) is prepared using all
relevant and up-to-date information including calculations, sketches, drawings,
specifications and any other relevant information.
9. Managing all stages of temporary works from design, procurement, erection,
maintenance, and removal.
10. Developing the Temporary Works plan and the temporary Works Register.
Preparing design briefs.
11. Reviewing/approving method statement of temporary works, drawings and
calculations.
12. Conducting regular training and presentation to the civil construction team
regarding temporary works procedures and safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
Plan, design, and oversee all temporary works on site.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and engineering standards.
Liaise with project teams, contractors, and consultants.
Conduct inspections, risk assessments, and approvals of temporary works.
