Job Description

A Teller plays a critical role in the day-to-day operations of a bank by providing exceptional service to customers while managing various financial transactions with precision and confidentiality. They are often the first point of contact for customers, and therefore, embody the bank s values and principles. A Teller is responsible for handling both cash and non-cash transactions efficiently, ensuring accuracy in every transaction. This position requires not only technical proficiency with banking systems but also strong communication skills to promote various banking products and services tailored to customer needs. As a Teller, you must possess excellent multitasking abilities and thrive in a high-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and adhering to established procedures and policies. The role demands integrity, patience, and an ability to work under pressure, making it essential that you provide reliable and courteous service to foster lasting relationships with customers.


Responsibilities
  • Facilitate customer transactions including deposits, withdrawals, and payments while ensuring accuracy.
  • Maintain and balance cash drawers at the end of each shift with precision.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by resolving inquiries and complaints promptly.
  • Promote bank products and services to customers based on their financial needs.
  • Verify identification and documentation to prevent fraud and safeguard information.
  • Collaborate with banking staff to improve customer experience and operational efficiency.
  • Process loan payments, cashier s checks, and money orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Keep records of customer transactions, update account information as necessary.
  • Administer and report any suspected fraudulent activities or discrepancies immediately.
  • Ensure compliance with bank policies, regulations, and legal guidelines.
  • Educate customers on digital banking channels to enhance user engagement.
  • Escalate complex requests to senior staff, ensuring customer requirements are met.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education is an advantage.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within banking or customer service.
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail to manage transactions accurately.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse customers.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and banking software applications.
  • Knowledge of bank regulations and financial procedures is highly preferred.
