Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect and record incoming telecom materials
  • Issue materials to project of field teams based on approved process
  • Arrange and coordinate Forklift / rigging support where applicable for material movement between all sites
  • Maintain accurate inventory records (follow check-in / check-out process)
  • Ensure safe storage of new/used and faulty equipment
  • Coordinate annual calibration of all Telecom Test Equipment
  • Follow Telecom stockroom guidelines and implement appropriate controls as defined in the ISRA
  • Manage & coordinate material returns to warehouse as per company policy
  • Receive, store faulty de-commissioned equipment and support the process of eWaste and disposal /write-off as per company policy
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards
  • The position requires climbing ladders, scaffoldings, lifting materials, working at heights etc. and regular use of small hand tools and test equipment.
  • The position requires work in various locations mainly in the plant area requiring a high level of safety awareness.
  • Should have a valid vehicle driving license preferably a Qatari driving license.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Diploma in Electronics / Computer Engineering from a reputed University or recognized equivalent to a minimum.
  • Minimum 5 years work experience with hands on knowledge of telecommunication equipment and system, preferably in oil & gas industry
  • Shall have effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills in the English.
  • Shall be computer literate and conversant with basic Microsoft office applications.
  • Shall be able to read and interpret electronic system drawings.
  • Knowhow in the use of computer-based permits to work on system workflows would be preferred.
  • Understand communication system analysis, troubleshooting, and repairs is required.
  • The ability to use and operate a personal computer, digital multimeter, impedance meter, megger meter and other tools and equipment used in the installation, maintenance, and operation of telecommunications systems is required.
  • The ability to demonstrate initiative to work and solve technical problems, accurately complete tasks on time independently and as part of a team in a potentially stressful environment is required.
  • Responsible for the efficient management of telecom materials, tools, and equipment within the store.
  • Ensures accurate inventory control, timely issuance and proper storage for OpCo & project requirements.
  • Support logistics and material handling for telecom installation, maintenance and rollout activities.
