Technician - Pump Service

Position Title: Technician Pumps Service
Reports To: Workshop Supervisor / Ops Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Carry out dismantling, cleaning, inspection, and measurement of pump components to identify wear, damage, or defects.
• Perform overhaul and repair activities on centrifugal pumps, vertical pumps, submersible pumps, and other rotating equipment.
• Conduct precision measurements (using micrometers, Vernier calipers, dial gauges, etc.) and record findings in inspection reports.
• Replace or repair worn-out parts such as bearings, seals, wear rings, shafts, and impellers.
• Carry out assembly and alignment of pumps in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
• Assist in conducting hydrostatic, mechanical run, and performance tests to validate equipment readiness.
• Ensure proper use of workshop tools, lifting equipment, and measuring instruments.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workshop environment in compliance with HSE requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and suggest enhancements to workshop procedures.
• Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and fellow technicians to achieve project deadlines.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma / Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 35 years experience in pump maintenance, overhauls, or rotating equipment repair (workshop experience preferred).
• Strong knowledge of pump types, mechanical seals, bearings, and alignment techniques.
• Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments.
• Familiarity with ISO, API, or OEM repair standards will be an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of safety procedures, lifting operations, and workshop best practices.
