Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Helpdesk Technician's mission is to assist end users in resolving hardware and software technical problems, diagnose breakdowns, intervene directly on hardware and software, and ensure the continuity of IT and audiovisual services. He also participates in the preparation and technical support of events organized by UIR.

Reporting to the IT and Helpdesk Manager, your missions will be:

Problem Solving

  • Ensure the technical follow-up of incidents and interventions on the computer park.
  • Troubleshoot workstations locally and remotely.
  • Install and configure new computer hardware.
  • Participate in the annual hardware inventory.
  • Analyze problems and resolve them or escalate them according to internal procedures.
  • Intervene on hardware and software failures.

Prevention & Anticipation

  • Detect malfunctions and replace defective components.
  • Ensure data security (antivirus, backups).
  • Ensure the sustainability of the computer system through preventive actions.
  • Participate in the installation and commissioning of equipment.

Assistance and Advice

  • Assist, advise and train users on computer tools.
  • Write user guides and simplified procedures.

Audiovisual and Event Support

  • Provide technical support for audiovisual equipment in classrooms and amphitheaters.
  • Prepare and install audiovisual equipment for events organized by UIR (Open Days, Job Fair, graduation ceremonies, conferences...).
  • Provide technical assistance during events to ensure their smooth running.

Desired Candidate Profile

Profile sought:

  • Bac +2 minimum in computer science, systems and networks or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position.

Technical Skills:

  • Mastery of Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Good knowledge of office suites (Microsoft 365, ...).
  • Knowledge of hardware components (RAM, disks, cards...).
  • Ability to deal with basic security issues (antivirus, updates).
  • Use of remote control tools.
  • Knowledge of support and park management procedures.

Transverse Skills:

  • Autonomy, rigor and analytical mind.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to vulgarize technical aspects.
  • Sense of service and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in a team and manage priorities.
