Technical Authority Expert (VAS)

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manage 2nd Level incident management, 2nd Level fault and KPI troubleshooting, & 2nd Level preventive maintenance.
• Supervise and ensure optimal performance for SMSC and VAS nodes.
• Study, test, and implement new technical solutions as required related to SMSC, USSD, OTA, ADM, HDM, and VAS systems.
• Develop new scripts and procedures for assisting in O&M tasks and analyzing system performance.
• Analyze system logs and performance reports, coordinate with product vendors for escalation of network-critical alarms and problems, and apply the necessary fixes to resolve issues within SLA.
• Capture pcap traces for MAP, CAP, and SMPP to analyze problems occurring in SMSC, USSD MCN, and other VAS services.
• Attend to and resolve all tickets opened by customer care related to SMS, USSD, MCN, and all VAS services, coordinate with the operator network services team for network-related issues, and assist in resolution.
• Participate in installation, commissioning, and extension projects, and perform acceptance testing with vendors.

Qualification & Experience:

• Degree within Electrical Engineering / Telecommunication Engineering / Computer Science / Computer Engineering.
• 3-5 years experience in the same field
• Knowledge of Managed Service telecom operations practice.
• Deep Knowledge and hands-on experience in the following area;

1. 1. Comviva SMSC, MCN, USSD and Invigo OTA commissioning, configuration, upgrades, operations and maintenance.
   2. Call flows for IN & SMSC Networks
   3. Protocol Stack such as SS7 (Camel, ISUP, MAP), SIGTRAN, TCP/IP, Diameter, SIP, .. etc
   4. SQL and database administration (Oracle/MySQL/Sybase) and Linux administration
   5. Shell scripting, python, perl programming languages
   6. End-to-end integration experience with 3rd party systems using protocols like SMPP, SOAP, HTTP, and SS7/Sigtran(MAP/CAP)/SIP/RTP/Diameter
