Roles & Responsibilities

Job Title: Team Leader
Department: Airlines Services

Job Purpose:
Lead small teams within the department, ensuring daily tasks are carried out efficiently and according to KPIs. Liaise with internal customers to meet service expectations and assist with inventory management.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Support Team Supervisors with ordering and inventory control.
  • Lead and direct teams in daily tasks, ensuring quality, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Monitor supplier quality, follow up on issues, and resolve complaints.
  • Manage slow-moving or non-moving stock using inventory control systems (ERP, spreadsheets).
  • Provide coverage for Storekeepers and ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor and report stock usage, values, and movements.
  • Oversee packing times and ensure communication flows smoothly during shifts.
  • Ensure timely and accurate inventory processing in the system (SAP).
  • Inspect deliveries, verify they meet specifications, and ensure compliance with safety rules.
  • Handle VIP flights with extra care and ensure adherence to airline standards.
  • Guide teams on maintaining food safety standards, equipment care, and quality checks.
  • Ensure proper packing and reconciliation of Buy-on-board items.

Desired Candidate Profile

Required Experience:

  • 3+ years in inflight catering, with at least 1 year in a stores role.
  • Experience working in freezers, chillers, or the food industry.
  • Proficiency in English, SAP, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Education:

  • Grade 12 (or Grade 10 with 4-5 years of inventory and team leadership experience).
  • A degree is an added advantage.
