Roles & Responsibilities

MBIS is the school of choice for expatriate families living in Cairo. Established in 1995, MBIS serves a truly international, English-speaking body of over 350 children, with 61 nationalities represented. The school enjoys the patronage of the British Embassy and is a member of the strong>British Schools in the Middle East/strong> (BSME).

We are looking to recruit a talented, creative and team-oriented Secondary Teacher who is committed to providing the best education for our pupils. The teacher will likely be able to offer Humanities and English at KS3 but the ability to offer Media Studies would be an advantage,

Desired Candidate Profile

Must hold a recognised British teaching qualification for the secondary age range BA/BSC +PGCE.

  • Have at least 3 years qualified teaching experience post NQT teaching at least to GCSE (we are an Edexcel Centre).
  • Demonstrate a real passion for learning, an understanding of best practice and a desire to continually improve
  • Be committed and hard working, with high expectations of themselves and the pupils in their care and enjoy being a Form Tutor
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, strong collegiality and a drive to support whole school development
  • Teach inspiring lessons and use a variety of tools including ICT.
  • Possess a positive team-spirit and a good sense of humour
