Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
King s College Doha is seeking a passionate and skilled Teacher of Engineering for August 2026 to deliver high-quality teaching across the Prep and Senior School. The successful candidate will inspire pupils to develop creativity, technical expertise and strong problem-solving skills through an engaging and forward-thinking curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
- Plan, prepare and deliver outstanding lessons in Engineering that are engaging, challenging and inclusive.
- Develop high-quality schemes of work and lesson plans that embed creativity, innovation and real-world applications.
- Use a range of teaching strategies and digital tools to support excellent pupil progress.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback that supports pupils academic growth and confidence.
- Prepare pupils effectively for external examinations, including GCSE and BTEC qualifications.
Pupil Enrichment
- Lead and support extracurricular activities such as engineering clubs, design competitions and educational visits.
- Inspire pupils to explore STEM pathways and careers through meaningful enrichment opportunities.
Pastoral Responsibilities
- Contribute to the holistic development of pupils through active involvement in pastoral care.
- Support the wider life of the school through enrichment and co-curricular activities.
Curriculum Development
- Design engaging learning activities that stimulate curiosity and deepen understanding.
- Develop creative, high-quality subject-specific resources.
- Assist in sourcing and managing specialist resources and materials.
- Ensure strong vertical and horizontal curriculum alignment.
- Analyse pupil progress data and take action to ensure outstanding outcomes.
- Regularly review practice and engage in continuous professional development.
Desired Candidate Profile

Excellent working knowledge of Engineering curriculum. (E)
High levels of subject knowledge.(E)
Minimum of two years relevant teaching experience.(E)
Experience teaching BTEC Level 2 and Level 3 Engineering.(E)
Strong practical skills, including CAD and metal fabrication.(E)
Experience teaching resistant materials within DT.(E)
A recognised teaching qualification.(E)
A good degree from an established university.(E)
Ability to inspire pupils and stretch the most able while supporting all learners.(E)
Strong organisational, communication and teamwork skills.(E)
Commitment to contributing to all aspects of school life.(E)
Experience working with pupils who have English as an Additional Language.(D)
Experience working in the independent school sector.(D)
