The System Analyst - Banner Functional role supports these objectives by ensuring the effective utilization, customization, and support of Ellucian's Banner software to streamline administrative processes and enhance the student and staff experience.

Job Purpose

The System Analyst - Banner Functional is responsible for supporting and optimizing Ellucian's Banner software suite to meet the university's administrative and operational needs. This role involves analyzing business processes, implementing functional improvements, troubleshooting issues, and providing technical and functional support to end-users. The goal is to ensure seamless integration and utilization of Banner systems to enhance the institution's efficiency and service delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities

Major Duties/ Responsibilities:

• Act as a Higher Education Professional with extensive knowledge of Ellucian Banner ERP System.
• Manage the overall functional administration, support, planning, and implementation of PMU business systems, focusing on Banner ERP and related technologies like Workflow, Degree Works, Banner API, and payment integration systems.
• Perform analysis, modeling, design, and prototyping to enhance system implementation, ensuring alignment with university objectives.
• Provide daily operational support for Banner systems and serve as a liaison for user requirements and system troubleshooting.
• Conduct business process modeling and propose technical solutions to improve workflows.
• Develop and customize Banner reports as needed, ensuring data accuracy and relevance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve Banner-related issues and coordinate with relevant teams to ensure timely solutions.
• Upload student data to external platforms like MOHE (Ministry of Higher Education) as required.
• Generate statistical reports for end-users and management for informed decision-making.
• Raise Service Requests (SR) with Ellucian Support Center for critical issues that require external assistance.
• Design and maintain information systems, focusing on problem identification, database structuring, and system enhancements.
• Assist team members in customizing Banner applications and providing training for end-users to maximize system functionality.
• Analyze and map existing systems, business models, and user interfaces for system optimization.
• Translate business needs into actionable project briefs and solutions that align with institutional objectives.
• Stay updated on system upgrades, enhancements, and user resources to maintain operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 5-8 years of experience with ERP systems, specifically Ellucian Banner or Oracle EBS.

Expertise in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and proficiency in Oracle Forms and Reports Builder.

Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and web technologies such as ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JQuery.

Previous experience in developing/supporting ERP systems in an educational environment is highly preferred.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Familiarity with industry-standard tools and practices to ensure efficiency in IT workflows.

• Strong technical skills in troubleshooting, debugging, and optimization for ERP and IT systems.
• Resilience and adaptability in managing complex IT systems under tight deadlines.
• Excellent command of the English language, with a focus on professional IT documentation and communication.
