Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Supervise day-to-day financial operations including journal entries, account reconciliations, and closing activities.
2. Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded in accordance with internal accounting policies.
3. Monitor and maintain the general ledger to ensure alignment with reporting and regulatory requirements.
4. Develop, implement, and monitor internal financial controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance.
5. Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes to ensure timely financial reporting.
6. Review and approve reconciliations of key balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies as needed.
7. Stay up to date on changes in accounting standards and assess their impact on internal processes.
8. Support the preparation of financial statements and regulatory reports by providing accurate and timely accounting data.
9. Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and efficiency in financial control activities.
10. Lead system implementations or upgrades related to financial control and accounting systems.
11. Ensure the Audit requirements are accurate and timely.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Manage and control the unit s projects to ensure project cycle completion and commitment to the company s guidelines and quality.
2. Guide, and assist employees by direct reports to perform their functional operations in accordance with set policies and procedures.
3. Oversee and manage all the unit s staff to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and trained and carry out their responsibilities to the required standards.
4. Set performance objectives, provide the necessary support, evaluate team(s), and offer regular feedback on performance.
5. Comply with communication and information sharing/handling policy to ensure confidentiality of the information and comply with all relevant risk and information security procedures to ensure operating within the acceptable risk levels.
6. Manage the development and implementation of the unit s policies, procedures, and processes covering all areas of the unit s activities to ensure the fulfillment of all work requirements.
7. Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and processes throughout the unit in order to achieve the company s operational excellence.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting or similar is required, Master Degree is preferred.
6 + years of experience in accounting or financial control, preferably within capital markets, financial institutions, IFRS strong knowledge.
