Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, service, and delivery capabilities.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including requests for quotations (RFQs), tendering, negotiations, and issuance of purchase orders.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with company policies and procurement regulations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure long-term, cost-effective partnerships.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or service.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, trends, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders (operations, finance, logistics, etc.) to align procurement with business needs.
- Prepare procurement reports and track key metrics, including cost savings, supplier performance, and procurement cycle times.
- Ensure all procurement activities adhere to ethical practices, company standards, and applicable laws.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure the best pricing and terms, driving cost savings and ensuring value for the organization.
- Manage the procurement cycle from requisition to delivery, guaranteeing timely acquisition of goods and services while adhering to budget constraints.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and ensuring consistent quality and service delivery.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., finance, operations) to understand their needs and align procurement strategies accordingly.
- Oversee inventory management, optimizing stock levels to minimize carrying costs and prevent stockouts, and improving operational efficiency.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies to continuously improve procurement processes and strategies.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Experience in Inventory Management and Logistics
- Background in Imports and Exports, such as shipping documentation, creation of BOL / AWB, and coordination with shipping lines.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain roles, demonstrating increasing responsibility.
- Experience in a specific industry sector like manufacturing or retail, showcasing industry-specific knowledge.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills are crucial for building and maintaining supplier relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Candidates should be fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
- Possession of relevant certifications such as CPSM or CIPS is highly advantageous.
- A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
