Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficient and productive farm activities across poultry and cattle operations.
  • Implement and monitor animal health programs, including vaccination schedules and disease prevention protocols, to minimize livestock losses.
  • Manage and train farm staff, providing clear instructions, performance evaluations, and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Coordinate feeding schedules and nutritional plans, ensuring optimal growth and health for poultry and cattle.
  • Supervise the maintenance and repair of farm equipment, machinery, and infrastructure to prevent downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of feed, medications, and other supplies, controlling costs and preventing shortages.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a safe workplace.
  • Maintain detailed records of production, expenses, and other key performance indicators for accurate reporting and analysis.
  • Implement and enforce biosecurity measures to protect livestock from diseases and maintain a healthy farm environment.
  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in farm operations, implementing changes to increase productivity and profitability.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Possesses a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, or a related field.
  • Holds certifications in animal handling, first aid, or related fields, demonstrating commitment to animal welfare and safety.
  • Demonstrates 5+ years of hands-on experience in poultry or cattle farming operations, showcasing practical expertise.
  • Exhibits experience in a relevant industry, such as poultry farms or cattle ranches, proving industry knowledge.
  • Has a minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role within a farm environment.
  • Is a citizen or has the right to work in the country, ensuring legal compliance and ease of employment.
  • Is fluent in English, both written and spoken, to facilitate effective communication and reporting.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in using farm management software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Possesses strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, allowing for effective team management and decision-making.
  • Exhibits physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, demonstrating suitability for the role.
