Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
· Estimation of New Building, Conversion, Ship Repair and EPC
· Material Control
· Manhour control
· Structural analysis
· Prepare drawing for special scaffolding structures and support with calculations.
· Scaffold materials CAPEX estimation and requesting
· Prepare method statements and procedures, specific TRA's related to project
· Liaise with commercial Dept. for EPC, New building, Conversion and Ship repair for manhours update and settlement.
· Develop, interpret and follow method statements and procedures in addition to understanding specifications, drawings and all other disciplines related to project and engineering documentation.
· Forecast planning for upcoming vessel.
· Reviewing 5 weeks planning / program
· Reviewing availability of manpower and if need to acquire more sub-contractors
· To check and read specification of respective in coming repair vessels in yard
· To allocate work describers assign vessels in advance and to ensure and aware sow of incoming vessels
· To monitor and follow up staging man-hours and to ensure man-hours to be updated by respective cost engineer on regular basis
· To monitor and evaluate daily activities of work describer and to ensure all required details are forwarded to respective cost engineer
· To discuss any dispute or dis-agreement to the superintendent or client
· Weekly meeting in EPC, new building, conversion project to ensure close monitoring of man-hours
· Monthly KPI and cubic meters arrangement as per Sr. Foreman and Work describer
· Estimation of staging for incoming project, to quantify staging requirement and man-hours for EPC, new building, conversion, repair vessels and other project
· To arrange or prepared man-power program as per request by commercial and planners
· Allocate expected staging materials ( if required )
· Arranging of staging clash program
· To attend meeting with commercial and PMT for new project and discussed method statement
· Any special instruction from Senior Supervisor and Department Manager
· Implement the day-to-day operations assigned for the Department to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures
· Read specifications, work list and pre-planning job (Sequence of job, manpower, equipment) including plan for five weeks manpower requirements.
· Liaise with invoicers / estimators to ensure that department and commercial targets are synchronized and met
· Develop detailed completion program with manpower loading.
· Identify and act upon opportunities for improvement to work & safety related matters.
· Participate in accident investigation, root cause analysis and provide assistance in preparing necessary reports.
· Review vessel repair plan, build strategies in order to formalize the optimum utilization of yard equipment and resources
· Provide personnel appraisal & training requirements for subordinates.
Motivate, train and develop Subordinates.
Desired Candidate Profile
Civil Engineer or equivalent Qualification in Marine Field Auto CAD / STUD Microsoft office proficiency.
Proficiency in Scaffold design.
Extensive knowledge in International standards.
Structural analysis
8 to 10 years of Experience in similar field
