Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and review detailed engineering drawings and wiring diagrams for substation secondary systems.
  • Coordinate with primary design, civil, and project management teams to ensure seamless integration of secondary systems.
  • Specify and select appropriate protection relays, control panels, and auxiliary equipment for substations.
  • Prepare technical documentation, design calculations, and bill of materials for project execution.
  • Conduct technical evaluations of vendor proposals and support procurement processes for secondary equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards (IEC, IEEE, local codes) and client specifications in all design activities.
  • Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and testing of substation secondary systems.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering workshops.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and standards.

Desired Candidate Profile

  1. Bachelor s degree in electrical engineering
  2. To have 4-8 years of proven experience in substation secondary design engineering.
  3. Strong knowledge of protection, control, and automation systems for HV/MV substations.
  4. Strong knowledge of preparing and reviewing engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  5. Experience with engineering software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN, ETAP, or similar).
  6. Excellent communication and teamwork skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
  7. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  9. A strong understanding of electrical theory, codes & standards of electrical systems.
