Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of inventory, ensuring all items are logged accurately upon arrival.
  • Conduct regular stock audits and inventory checks to maintain optimal levels and identify discrepancies promptly.
  • Organize the warehouse in a systematic manner, utilizing space effectively while ensuring easy access to frequently used items.
  • Assist in the preparation of purchase orders and maintain effective communication with suppliers regarding stock availability.
  • Ensure that all inventory is stored in compliance with safety regulations, minimizing risks of damage or accidents.
  • Implement and maintain a clear labeling system for all products to streamline retrieval and inventory tracking.
  • Oversee the disposal of expired or damaged stock in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations.
  • Train and supervise junior staff on inventory management procedures and best practices to foster a cohesive team environment.
  • Utilize inventory management software to track stock levels and generate reports for management review.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support their inventory needs and ensure timely availability of required materials.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in inventory management or supply chain are a plus.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a storekeeping or warehouse role, demonstrating proficiency in inventory control.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data tracking.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in stock counts and reports, minimizing errors that could impact operations.
  • Good physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy items, as the role may require manual handling of products.
  • Effective communication skills in English; additional language proficiency can be advantageous in diverse workplaces.
  • Problem-solving abilities to address and resolve inventory discrepancies and operational challenges efficiently.
  • Team-oriented approach with the capability to work independently, showcasing reliability and accountability.
  • A proactive attitude towards learning and adapting to new technologies or processes within the inventory management field.
