Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage inventory levels by conducting regular stock audits to ensure accurate stock counts and minimize discrepancies.
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders to maintain product integrity.
- Organize and maintain the storage area, ensuring optimal space utilization and easy access to items for efficient retrieval.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of stock movements, including receipts, dispatches, and returns to facilitate effective inventory management.
- Implement and follow safety guidelines for the storage and handling of hazardous materials to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments to resolve any issues related to inventory discrepancies or supply chain delays.
- Assist in the development and implementation of inventory control procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Monitor expiration dates of perishable items, ensuring timely rotation and disposal to minimize waste.
- Provide support during stocktaking processes, assisting management in identifying and addressing inventory challenges.
- Train and mentor new staff on inventory management systems and best practices to enhance team performance.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Minimum of a high school diploma; a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in inventory management or a similar role, preferably in a retail or warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of inventory management software and basic accounting principles is essential for effective record-keeping.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage stock efficiently and accurately.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items; physical stamina is necessary for managing inventory tasks.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to coordinate with team members and suppliers effectively.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills to address inventory discrepancies and supply chain issues swiftly.
- Fluency in [local language] and English is required to facilitate communication in a diverse workplace.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team to achieve common goals.
