Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the stockyard, ensuring efficient material handling and storage.
  • Manage inventory levels, track stock movements, and implement strategies to minimize losses and optimize space utilization.
  • Supervise and train stockyard personnel, fostering a safe and productive work environment through performance evaluations.
  • Coordinate with procurement, sales, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and accurate tracking of materials.
  • Implement and maintain stockyard safety procedures, including hazard identification and accident prevention.
  • Prepare and analyze reports on stock levels, inventory turnover, and operational efficiency, providing data-driven insights.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and infrastructure, arranging for necessary maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including safety, environmental, and company policies.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve stockyard processes, reduce costs, and enhance overall performance.
  • Manage and resolve any issues related to stock discrepancies, damage, or delays, ensuring customer satisfaction.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in stockyard management or a similar role within a warehouse environment.
  • Must be able to fluently communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Showcases excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop employees.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of inventory control principles, including FIFO, LIFO, and cycle counting.
