Roles & Responsibilities

Detailed Roles & Responsibilities

Strategic

  • Conducts market visits and attends trade shows to expand supplier network and strengthen market awareness.
  • Identifies and recommends new MEP-related products and suppliers for inclusion in the company s vendor list and product catalog.

Operational

  • Oversee the purchasing process for key materials and supplies, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to achieve the best value.

  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with project teams to ensure adequate supply
  • Resolve any issues related to order fulfillment, quality, or delivery with suppliers.
  • Analyze purchasing data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Sends Requests for Quotation (RFQ) to MEP suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Collects, reviews, and evaluates quotations to ensure competitive pricing and compliance with technical requirements.
  • Prepares and reviews Local Purchase Orders (LPO) ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Supports project teams by ensuring timely procurement of MEP materials (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting systems, etc.) in line with project schedules.
  • Coordinates with site teams and suppliers to resolve issues related to quality, delivery, or technical specifications.
  • Maintains strong relationships with suppliers to secure reliable material sourcing.
  • Surveys the market regularly for updated prices and availability of key MEP materials and equipment.
  • Coordinates with Finance for supplier payments and ensures alignment with contract terms.
  • Maintains and updates supplier/subcontractor records, catalogs, and technical brochures.
  • Ensures compliance with procurement policies and accurate data entry in procurement systems.

People Management

  • Supports the training and development of junior procurement staff.
  • Provides technical guidance on MEP procurement best practices.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum 6 years of proven experience in procurement, with strong exposure to MEP purchasing in construction and general contracting companies.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP materials, systems, and suppliers in the KSA market.
  • Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic is an advantage.
  • Preference will be given to Saudi Talent in line with workforce development initiatives.
