Roles & Responsibilities

Clinical Practice:
Perform professional duties in the endocrinology clinic, evaluating and treating patients with hormonal diseases.
Provide on-call emergency coverage for endocrinology emergencies.
Perform specific endocrinal procedures like dynamic hormonal tests.
Offer consultation and referral services to inpatients.
Manage the entire patient process from initial consultation to treatment plan.
Patient Care and Communication:
Order diagnostic studies, including laboratory and X-ray examinations.
Determine diagnoses and prescribe appropriate therapies.
Maintain patient confidentiality.
Listen effectively to others to promote clear communication.
Staff and Departmental Duties:
Supervise and educate staff nurses, patients, and technicians.
Participate in and contribute to all quality assurance activities (e.g., mortality and morbidity conferences, peer reviews, audits).
Contribute to in-service activities like lectures, conferences, and rounds.
Attend monthly staff meetings.
Participate in developing departmental guidelines, protocols, and manuals.
Compliance and Safety:
Strictly adhere to the organization's medical regulations, policies, and standards, especially those related to infection control, patient safety, and quality assurance (EHSMS, DOH, JCI, ISO).
Comply with all occupational safety and health (OSH) and infection control policies.
Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
Notify management of OSH hazards, incidents, and near misses.
Comply with waste management procedures and policies.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Professional Development:
Participate in and contribute to scheduled in-service training, CNEs, CMEs, and conferences.
Monitor clinical indicators to ensure ongoing quality assurance.
Contribute to the development and promotion of departmental KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
Miscellaneous:
Perform other related duties as required by the Head of Department (HOD).
Maintain respect for the hospital's policies and procedures.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications

1. Graduation from an approved Medical School plus internship
2. 3 year residency of Internal Medicine Residency.
3. 3 years Residency training in a recognized residency in Endocrinology and/or equivalent fellowships approved by DOH.
4. Current license in country of origin with Specialist Endocrinologist, DOH license to practice in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.
5. Minimum 3 years’ experience of practice in the field of Endocrinology (Hormonal Diseases).
