About the job:
The Specialist in Category Management will be responsible for the development and management of Almosafer s business categories in the Consumer Travel BU. The role will focus on developing and executing category initiatives aligned with Almosafer s business objectives and market trends including but not limited to product assortment health monitoring & planning, driving business prioritization with sourcing teams (flights hotels, other products), central business alignment with partnerships teams etc.

Responsibilities:

  • P&L Understanding: Monitor, understand and analyze the assigned categories P&L health and drive corrective actions that align with broader business objectives.
  • Performance Analysis: Analyze category performance through sales data, customer funnel data, and market research to identify growth opportunities and areas for efficiency improvement especially with assortment planning and product offerings improvement.
  • Category Assortment Planning: Ability to ideate and drive initiatives with the sourcing/buying/purchasing team that can drive higher conversions and better user experience creating a sustainable assortment-led differentiation for Almosafer.
  • Partnerships Management: Support the partnerships team in creating compelling partnership proposals that can effectively leverage partner coverage for growth.
  • Market Research: Conduct market and competitor analysis to stay ahead of trends, identifying new opportunities for category expansion and differentiation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sourcing, partnerships, sales, customer service, finance, operations and marketing teams to drive central business initiatives with category context.
  • Reporting and Insights: Prepare regular reports on category performance, providing insights and recommendations to senior management for decision-making.
  • Category Strategy: Assist in creating the strategic view of sourcing and partnerships and lead the implementation through detailed follow-up action plans.

Profile Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of experience in category management, retail management, or a similar role within the travel, retail, or related industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (Advanced Excel, Tableau).
  • Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to manage professional relationships.
  • Familiarity with sourcing market dynamics, consumer behavior, and category management principles.
  • Working knowledge of sourcing/buying as well as the partnerships ecosystem preferably with the travel industry context will be valued.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines and willingness to learn through hands-on/on-ground experience.
  • Experience with pricing and promotions is a plus.
