Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The Software Quality Engineer is responsible to ensure the reliability and accuracy of our software tools used in pipeline inspection. You will be responsible for testing, validation, and documentation throughout the development lifecycle making sure each release meets functional, performance, and usability standards. The role blends technical testing with clear documentation and process control, contributing directly to the quality and stability of LIN SCAN s inspection software.
- Develop, maintain, and execute test plans, test cases, and validation procedures.
- Perform functional, regression, and integration testing for engineering applications.
- Verify software performance against defined requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Document and track issues, confirm fixes, and validate final releases.
- Prepare validation reports, release notes, and maintain test traceability.
- Create and update user manuals, quick-start guides, and training materials.
- Ensure all documentation reflects verified and tested software behavior.
- Provide feedback to improve usability and workflow consistency.
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in software testing, QA, or validation.
- Familiarity with functional and regression testing methods.
- Basic understanding of C#/.NET and desktop application behavior.
- Experience with issue tracking and version control systems.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent written English.
- Experience in testing or documenting engineering or data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of test automation frameworks or scripting (Python, unit tests).
- Experience preparing user documentation or release materials.
- Familiarity with software lifecycle tools (VCS, CI/CD, Task trackers).
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Mobility: Must be able to walk and climb to perform duties, including maneuvering within a refinery or plant environment and accessing elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
- Communication: Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing, or other communication capabilities, to communicate effectively.
- Focus and Multitasking: Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively.
- Safety Equipment: Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection, if/where needed in manufacturing environments.
- Personal Mobility and Reflexes: Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform office duties and travel to off-site locations when necessary.
Desired Candidate Profile
