Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Content Creation & Video Production

  • Shoot, edit, and publish high-quality, social-first video content optimised for TikTok, Instagram Reels, Stories, and other platforms
  • Use tools such as CapCut, Canva, Captions, native platform editors, and AI-powered tools to enhance production speed and creative quality
  • Adapt social media trends creatively and appropriately for an academic, student-focused, and culturally diverse audience
  • Analyse performance insights to test, refine, and improve content over time
  • Support a frequent and rolling live social content calendar, including student takeovers, activations, and real-time coverage of campus events
  • Ensure content is optimised for reach, engagement, and shareability within the UAE and international markets
  • Support website content and longer-form video to assist recruitment, campaigns, and brand storytelling

Community Management

  • Actively monitor and respond to comments and direct messages across all social platforms
  • Deliver friendly, professional, and on-brand responses to prospective students, parents, and current students
  • Identify opportunities to build meaningful conversations and strengthen the MDX Dubai online community
  • Contribute to the development of community management guidelines and online tone of voice

Event & On-the-Ground Coverage

  • Attend and cover a wide range of university events throughout the academic year, including open days, graduations, student activities, and sports events
  • Capture fast-turnaround content in live environments with confidence and creativity
  • Produce photography, short interviews, testimonials, and behind-the-scenes content for social use

Podcast & Video Series Support

  • Support filming and setup for university video series and a sports-focused podcast
  • Assist in shaping engaging conversations and strong visual output
  • Contribute creative ideas to improve shareability, discoverability, and audience growth

Performance & Innovation

  • Monitor content performance and contribute ideas to exceed engagement, reach, and follower growth targets
  • Bring fresh, trend-forward ideas to ensure Middlesex University Dubai remains competitive within the regional higher education social media space
  • Collaborate closely with the wider marketing, communications, and student recruitment teams
  • Suggest, test, and utilise new platforms, tools, and equipment to elevate content quality and efficiency

Desired Candidate Profile

Essential

  • Proven experience creating video content for TikTok, Instagram, and other social platforms
  • Strong shooting and editing skills, particularly short-form vertical video
  • Confident using CapCut, Canva, and AI-assisted editing tools
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Comfortable working across a wide range of topics, cultures, and academic disciplines
  • Confident, personable, and professional when covering live events
  • Highly creative, trend-aware, and performance-driven
  • A proactive, collaborative team player

Desirable
