Roles & Responsibilities

Role Purpose

The Accounts Analyst will support the financial management of shipyard operations by preparing, analyzing, and maintaining accurate financial records. The role involves monitoring operational costs, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and generating reports to support decision-making. The position requires close coordination with operations, procurement, and management teams to ensure financial data integrity and effective cost control aligned with maritime industry practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and reconciliations.

  • Review, analyze, and report on operational expenses, procurement costs, and project accounts.

  • Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis.

  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities in compliance with accounting standards.

  • Ensure proper accounting treatment of Capex and Opex expenditures.

  • Coordinate with procurement and operations teams to verify supplier invoices and payments.

  • Monitor accounts payable and receivable, ensuring adherence to payment terms.

  • Generate financial reports and presentations using ERP systems, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Assist internal and external auditors during audit processes.

  • Ensure compliance with local accounting regulations, tax requirements, and international standards.

  • Perform other finance-related tasks as assigned by management.

Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum Qualifications

  1. CA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.

  2. Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or related positions.

  3. Preferably with prior experience in the shipyard or maritime industry.

  4. Strong knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, or similar), Excel, and PowerPoint.

  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  6. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

  7. Business-fluent in English (written and oral).

  8. Strong communication and coordination skills for cross-functional teamwork.
