Senior Technical Architect Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Role Purpose

GHD is seeking a Senior Technical Architect to join our growing team in Abu Dhabi. This is a pivotal role for a highly skilled professional who thrives on delivering technically robust architectural solutions across all project stages. You will lead the development of architectural plans, oversee technical feasibility studies, and ensure the successful implementation of complex design and construction projects.

As a key technical leader, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, guide BIM integration, and provide expert advice on construction methodologies, materials, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Architectural Design: Develop and validate architectural solutions that meet functional, aesthetic, and regulatory requirements.
• Engineering Drawings: Produce and review complex engineering drawings to support design communication and implementation.
• Feasibility & Technical Studies: Conduct and supervise technical and financial feasibility studies, including cost-benefit analyses and risk assessments.
• Building Surveys: Lead technical surveys to assess building conditions, identify defects, and evaluate associated risks.
• Construction & Regulatory Advice: Provide expert guidance on construction regulations, materials, and best practices for maintenance, alteration, and new builds.
• BIM Oversight: Supervise the implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of Building Information Modeling (BIM) systems, ensuring data accuracy and integration.
• Client Engagement: Manage relationships with clients, contributing to proposals, tenders, and project delivery strategies.
• Mentorship & Capability Building: Support the development of junior team members and maintain your own professional growth through continuous learning and accreditation.

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in architectural and engineering design tools (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM platforms)
• Strong capability in engineering specification, testing, and implementation

• Familiarity with construction technologies, materials, and regulatory frameworks
• Ability to manage and interpret complex technical data and documentation
  
  

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor s degree (or equivalent) in Architecture or a related field
• 6 10 years of relevant experience in architectural design and technical project delivery
• 1 3 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role
• Chartered Architect status or working towards accreditation is preferred
• Strong portfolio demonstrating technical excellence and project leadership
