Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all tax compliance activities for the business unit, ensuring adherence to local, regional, and international tax regulations.
  • Prepare, review, and file accurate tax returns, including corporate income tax, VAT, and other applicable taxes.
  • Conduct detailed tax analysis and provide recommendations to optimize tax positions and minimize liabilities.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and alignment with tax requirements.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and government authorities during audits and inspections.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the company s operations and financial statements.
  • Develop and implement robust tax policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
  • Support the finance team in month-end and year-end closing processes related to tax provisions and disclosures.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior accountants and other staff on tax matters and best practices.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management on tax issues, risks, and planning opportunities.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of 5 years and maximum of 7 years of progressive experience in tax accounting, preferably within the manufacturing or cement industry.
  • Proven expertise in Egyptian tax laws and regulations, including corporate income tax, VAT, and withholding tax.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex tax codes and apply them to business scenarios.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and reviewing tax returns and supporting documentation.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all tax-related processes.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, office-based environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in liaising with tax authorities and handling tax audits.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on tax legislation.
