Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Backup & Restore Environment – Main & DR

  • Manage and operate backup systems:
    • Avamar (Physical & Virtual)
    • Data Domain (Physical & Virtual)
    • Networker
    • Veeam
  • Administer tape management and rotation (Veeam & Networker)
  • Export Exchange backups to tape – ongoing operations
  • Conduct quarterly restore tests at DR site
  • Handle IID/IPAAS backup and patching on SDP platform
  • Manage DOF Hyperion ODIN VM/NFS replication
  • Oversee DRDO/EDCP DFS replication

2. Backup Storage Hardware – Main & DR

  • SKLM Encryption for IBM Tape Library
  • IBM Tape Library for Networker
  • HP Tape Library for Veeam
  • HP MSA2050 (Main) & MSA2062 (DR) Backup Storage for Veeam
  • Dell5012 Backup Storage for Veeam (Main)

3. Citrix VDI Environment

  • Administer Citrix VDI delivery groups for:
    • UAEPASS
    • MCS
    • GRP

4. Windows Environment Administration

  • System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) administration
  • Onboarding of Defender for Diwan systems
  • External DNS operation
  • Server/AD Domain administration in:
    • Corporate environment
    • Shared Services environment
  • Hyper-V management
  • Corporate domain administration

5. Projects, Procurement, and Renewals

  • Support for additional server/resource provisioning (e.g., Veeam)
  • Manage AMC renewals and licensing:
    • Infofort / Iron Mountain
    • Networker IBM Hardware
    • Veeam License & Support
    • HP Hardware for Veeam
    • KastenK10 licensing for OpenShift backup

Desired Candidate Profile

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Strong expertise in backup technologies: Veeam, Avamar, Networker, Data Domain
  • Skilled in administration of tape libraries, storage solutions (HP, Dell)
  • Proficient in Windows Server and Active Directory environments
  • Hands-on experience with Hyper-V and Citrix VDI
  • Familiar with Microsoft SCOM and endpoint security (Defender)
  • Knowledge of DNS and network operations
  • Strong understanding of disaster recovery and data replication methods
  • Capable in vendor coordination, procurement tracking, and license renewals
  • Strong documentation and troubleshooting capabilities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Professional certifications are preferred:
    • Veeam, Citrix, Microsoft, IBM, Dell EMC

Experience

  • 7+ years in backup administration, IT infrastructure, and server environments
  • Hands-on experience with DR sites and enterprise backup/storage systems
