Roles & Responsibilities

We are looking for a dynamic and creative professional who can be a good addition to our innovative team and culture. In this position, you will focus on the Savoury Market in SAMEA as well as support the Regional Innovation agenda to:

• Release your creativity to create the Savoury Flavours of the future:

• Based on both customer requests and market insights, you will create new flavours making use of the
newest flavour technologies, the latest ingredient innovations, market and consumer insights, and a
unique pallet of raw materials.

• You will also come with ideas and innovations to ensure our customers can continue to make the
difference for their consumers around the globe.

• Innovate and collaborate with our Science & Technology teams:

• You will work together with our Science & Technology (S&T) teams to identify the tools S&T develops that
will allow us to win more projects in Egypt.

• Within your innovation mandate, you will work in strong collaboration with the Marketing, Application, and
Commerical teams to apply these new tools in your new flavour creations for existing and innovative
Savoury applications.

• Craft excellent relationships with our customers :

• Maintain effective relationships with a broad number of partners and stakeholders to gain their trust and
respect.

• Execute daily brief-related tasks and fully manage assigned projects and provide flavours which meet all
defined customer needs and manufacturing practices, sample scale-up, production requirements,
regulatory compliance, etc.

• Lead customer visits for flavour creation and product presentations when required.

• Be a technical expert and leader :

• To resolve flavour production issues, customer complaints, and complete ownership of created flavours.

• Coach, train, and mentor flavour assistants, flavourist's, and application technologist's as required.

Desired Candidate Profile

Your professional profile includes:

  • At least a Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry or in any other relevant
    discipline.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of relevant experience as a Flavourist after completion of your trainee programme, with a Flavour house. Prior experience focussing on Africa or the Middle East region will be advantageous.
  • Excellent creation experience for Savoury and able to manage briefs independently. Knowledge of any additional flavour categories will be advantageous, but not mandatory.
  • Strong oral and written proficiency in the English language. Knowledge of additional languages like Arabic will be an advantage, but not essential.
  • Solid knowledge of raw materials and flavour ingredients, flavour formulation, modifications and
    adjustments, solvent and carrier systems, delivery systems, analytical methodologies, and regulatory
    requirements.
  • Ability to try innovative tools in flavour creation, building a strong trials plan and communicate the
    outcome to the Flavour Creation & Application community.
  • Expert tasting skills and the ability to create and adjust flavour formulations that meet the taste
    requirements of customers.
  • Excellent presentation skills and strong communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Able to direct and motivate project teams.
