Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities


  • Project Leadership & Management: Lead the full project lifecycle for complex IT projects, from initiation to closure. This includes developing comprehensive project plans, defining scope, and managing budgets, resources, and timelines.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, senior management, and internal teams. Build and maintain strong relationships, negotiate deliverables, and proactively manage expectations and conflicts.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate cross functional project teams. You will be responsible for assigning tasks, monitoring progress, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues. Develop contingency plans to prevent disruptions and ensure project success.
  • Communication & Reporting: Prepare and present regular project status reports to stakeholders. Communicate complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee the selection, contract negotiation, and ongoing performance of third party vendors and contractors.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Experience: A minimum of 8to 10 years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 3 to 5 years in a senior or lead role, specifically within the IT or financial services sectors.
  • Education: A bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is often preferred.
  • Certifications: A Project Management Professional PMP certification or a similar credential eg PRINCE2 is highly desirable and often a requirement.
  • Skills:
    Advanced Project Management: In depth knowledge of various project methodologies Agile, Waterfall, Scrum.
    Technical Acumen: A strong understanding of IT concepts, software development lifecycles SDLC, and technical project dependencies.
    Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem solving skills.
    Tools: Proficiency in project management software like Jira, Microsoft Project, or Asana.
