Job Description

As a Senior Procurement Engineer specializing in Electrical & Instrumentation, you will play a crucial role within our procurement team to ensure the efficient and cost-effective purchase of materials and services. Your expertise in electrical and instrumentation systems will be critical in evaluating vendor proposals, conducting negotiations, and ensuring that all purchases meet specifications and quality standards. This position requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of building strong relationships with suppliers to optimize the procurement process. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to align the purchasing strategy with project goals and timelines.


Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee the procurement of electrical and instrumentation materials and services.
  • Evaluate supplier proposals to ensure compliance with project specifications and requirements.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure advantageous terms and conditions.
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
  • Prepare and review technical bid evaluations and recommend suppliers based on various criteria.
  • Ensure procurement activities align with project schedules and budgetary constraints.
  • Identify and manage risks associated with the procurement of materials and services.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues that arise with a focus on quality and reliability.
  • Coordinate with the engineering team to ensure material specifications align with project needs.
  • Stay updated on market trends affecting the supply of electrical and instrumentation products.
  • Provide input on budget preparation and cost management related to procurement activities.
  • Assist in the development of procurement strategies and standard operating procedures.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement within the electrical and instrumentation domain.
  • Strong understanding of procurement practices and supply chain management principles.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential for success.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects effectively and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience with ERP systems and procurement software is highly desirable.
  • Deep knowledge of electrical and instrumentation specifications and standards.
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations related to procurement activities.
