Senior Planning Engineer - Shipyard AlHassanain B.S.C Closed

We are seeking an experienced Senior Planning Engineer specializing in shipyard and drydock operations to oversee project scheduling, resource allocation, and progress monitoring for vessel construction, repair, and maintenance projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine engineering and shipyard project management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 / MS Project for ship repair, drydock, and new build projects.
• Coordinate with production, engineering, procurement, and subcontractors to ensure timely project execution.
• Monitor critical path activities and identify potential delays, proposing mitigation strategies.
• Prepare progress reports, EOT (Extension of Time) claims, and delay analysis reports for management and clients.
• Conduct resource planning (manpower, equipment, materials) to optimize efficiency in drydock operations.
• Review ship repair specifications, work packages, and dock availability for scheduling alignment.
• Lead planning meetings with stakeholders, including shipowners, classification societies, and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with shipyard safety, quality, and environmental regulations.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 8+ years of planning experience in shipyards, drydocks, or offshore fabrication.
• Expert knowledge of ship repair cycles, hull blasting/painting, machinery overhaul, and docking procedures.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, AutoCAD, and shipyard management software.
• Familiarity with class society rules (ABS, DNV, LR, etc.) and maritime regulations.
• Strong analytical skills with expertise in critical path method (CPM) and earned value management (EVM).
• Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic or other languages a plus).

Preferred Certifications:

• PMP, PMI-SP, or equivalent project planning certification.
• Marine industry-specific training (e.g., shipyard management, drydock planning).
