Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The Senior Mechanical Engineer must have 8-10 years of solid experience in mechanical project engineering within building construction. The role requires strong knowledge of mechanical design, installation, testing, and commissioning for HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting systems.
Additional requirements include:
- Familiarity with international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA) and local authority regulations.
- Strong project management, planning, and leadership skills.
- The ability to coordinate with consultants, architects, and other engineering disciplines to resolve technical issues.
- Reviewing and approving shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and as-built documents.
- Overseeing the testing, commissioning, and final handover of mechanical systems.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Experience: A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, within the MEP and high-rise building construction sector.
- Technical Skills: * Expertise in HVAC system design for high-rise commercial and residential buildings.
Proficiency with BIM (Building Information Modeling) software like Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
Experience with mechanical design and energy modeling software (e.g., HAP, Trane Trace).
Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations. - Soft Skills:
Excellent leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
