Job Description

The role of Senior Legal Counsel is pivotal within any organization that seeks to uphold strong legal integrity and sound business practices. As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will provide high-level legal and business expertise, make critical decisions that could affect the company's operations, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This position not only involves advising the executive management team and various departments on legal matters but also participating actively in the development and implementation of business strategies. Individuals fulfilling this role are expected to have a strategic mindset, excellent judgment, and the ability to effectively balance legal risks with the goals of the organization. Responsibilities
  • Provide expert and strategic legal advice to management and various departments.
  • Ensure the company s compliance with current laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate high-value and complex contracts and agreements.
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with the business and its operations.
  • Manage and coordinate with external legal advisors on significant legal matters.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of corporate policies and procedures.
  • Represent the company in court proceedings and manage litigation processes.
  • Conduct training sessions for staff on various legal issues and updates.
  • Monitor changes in relevant legislation and the regulatory environment.
  • Oversee legal audits, compliance checks, and corporate governance measures.
  • Assist the board and executives in formulating corporate strategies and initiatives.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to enhance operational efficiencies.

Requirements
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in corporate law practice required.
  • Active membership in the bar association and authorization to practice law.
  • Proven ability to manage complex legal matters and transactions effectively.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Strong understanding of business and operational drivers impacting legal strategies.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of building high-performing teams.
