Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Inspection & Diagnosis: Conduct detailed inspections and diagnostic tests to identify and troubleshoot complex failures in hydraulic systems, including pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, and hoses.
- Repair & Overhaul: Perform major and minor repairs, overhauls, and rebuilds of hydraulic components and systems on a wide range of heavy equipment, such as excavators, bulldozers, cranes, and loaders.
- Reading Schematics: Interpret and work from complex hydraulic schematics and technical drawings to understand system layouts and perform accurate repairs.
- Component Replacement: Select, install, and replace hydraulic components, ensuring proper calibration and alignment to meet manufacturer specifications.
- Preventive Maintenance: Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules for hydraulic systems to extend equipment life and reduce downtime.
- Field Service: Provide on-site and in-field repair services, often working under pressure to resolve critical equipment failures and minimize project delays.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, particularly those related to handling high-pressure hydraulic fluids and operating heavy machinery.
- Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of all maintenance, repairs, and part replacements.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Education: Diploma or Technical Certification in Heavy Equipment Mechanics, Hydraulic Systems, or a related field.
- Experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience as a Hydraulic Mechanic, preferably in a heavy construction or industrial environment.
Proven expertise in diagnosing and repairing a variety of hydraulic systems and components. - Skills:
Extensive knowledge of hydraulic principles, fluid dynamics, and system components.
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools like pressure gauges, flow meters, and multimeters.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively troubleshoot complex issues.
Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina to handle heavy tools and equipment.
Ability to work independently and mentor junior technicians.
Fluent in spoken and written English.
