The role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior GIS Engineer to join our Iraq Operations Business. This role is full time residential based in Sharjah, UAE

Key Objectives

• Contributing to technical delivery of engineering excellence through:
• Executing assigned scopes of work.
• Providing discipline expertise to the business.
• Supporting and supervising task delegation to team.
• Uses technical knowledge to perform engineering assignments and produce engineering deliverables including complex problems. Completes almost any engineering tasks with minimal guidance and direction. May serve as the primary discipline engineer or discipline technical authority on projects with small to medium complexity.
• Performs engineering assignments, usually representing a significant portion of a larger project. Selects engineering techniques to solve problems and makes design recommendations.
• Requires mature professional knowledge in planning and conducting assignments having scope for coordination of difficult tasks.
• Applies specific area(s) of expertise in own discipline area
• In consultancy businesses, may review and manages complex projects within area of expertise or of a multi-disciplinary nature

• Develops productive, collaborative relationships of trust within and across projects, offices and regions, as well as with functions
• Engage with inter-discipline community and promote discipline including: networking / knowledge sharing
• Often required to persuade individuals with differing positions or interest to change criteria or methods, accept findings or reach agreement on technical points

• Establishing and / or maintaining an awareness of external stakeholders including: industry bodies, academia, vendors
• Builds relationships with customers as appropriate

Expected

• B.Sc. or equivalent degree in the Engineering discipline from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 10+ years relevant experience in major Brownfield oil & gas projects, including at least five (5) years in similar position.
