Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Assist in the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of outreach programs, ensuring timely and effective service delivery.
2. Support the development of IOM Algeria s outreach programme, in line with IOM guidelines.
3. Assist in the implementation of outreach activities with the migrant populations by helping identify their needs and supporting targeted intervention strategies, including awareness campaigns, information-sharing, and protection services, under the guidance of the AVRR and PxD unit.
4. In coordination with relevant units, support efforts to maintain relationships with local authorities, community leaders, partner organizations, and other stakeholders.
5. Assist in identifying new service providers, NGOs, and CSOs to support outreach initiatives, in coordination with the Programme Unit.
6. Maintain accurate records of beneficiary interactions, program interventions, and service delivery within established monitoring frameworks, and assist in evaluating the impact of outreach activities.
7. Collect quantitative and qualitative data, in coordination with the Information Management and M&E Units, to support monitoring activities and contribute to programme improvements and informed decision-making.
8. Serve as a liaison between IOM Algeria and local authorities in the different wilayas by facilitating communication and collaboration, and assist during meetings, conferences, and coordination platforms related to field outreach.
9. Organize meetings, workshops and training sessions; prepare training materials and participate in the delivering of capacity building workshops for IOM staff, partners, local authorities, and others to support field operations.
10. Provide logistical support for field travel, transport, accommodation, and resource allocation.
11. Collaborate closely with the Field Security Associate to follow security guidelines as per UNDSS standards, and support responses to emergency situations, as per operational arrangements.
12. Draft status reports highlighting shortfalls in delivery, bring them to the attention of the supervisor, and suggest corrective measures.
13. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Desired Candidate Profile
School diploma with six years of relevant experience; or,
Bachelor s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience.
Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
Knowledge of the migration context in Algeria.
Ability to work under minimal supervision.
Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and keep deadlines.
Strong work ethics and commitment to humanitarian principles.
- For all applicants, fluency in French is required (oral and written).
- Working knowledge of Arabic and English is desirable.
