Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure to join our growing technology team. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation that power our mission-critical software products.
This role is central to ensuring high availability, scalability, and security across our systems. You will collaborate closely with backend, frontend, and security teams to build a robust, modern DevOps environment that supports continuous delivery and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities Infrastructure & Cloud Operations (Azure)- Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Azure services (App Services, AKS, Virtual Machines, Load Balancers, etc.).
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Bicep, or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.
- Ensure cost optimization, monitoring, scaling, and high availability across all environments.
- Manage Azure Active Directory (AAD), Key Vaults, and secure access configurations.
- Design and manage end-to-end CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar.
- Automate application builds, testing, and deployments for both frontend (React.js) and backend (Django).
- Integrate quality gates, automated tests, and security scans into the delivery pipeline.
- Optimize deployment strategies (blue-green, canary, rolling deployments).
- Set up proactive monitoring and alerting using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.
- Implement automated incident response protocols and on-call readiness.
- Maintain centralized logging and support root cause analysis and postmortems for production issues.
- Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to enforce secure DevOps practices.
- Collaborate with System Architect to realize system architecture in the most cost-efficient manner.
- Manage secrets and credentials using Azure Key Vault, and enforce RBAC policies.
- Conduct regular infrastructure audits, threat modeling, and penetration test support.
- Work closely with developers to ensure DevOps best practices are embedded across teams.
- Champion a culture of automation, reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior DevOps or infrastructure engineers.
Desired Candidate Profile
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Engineering roles.
- Strong background managing production environments in Microsoft Azure.
- Proven experience deploying web applications built in Python/Django and React.js.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with IaC tools: Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
- Deep expertise in CI/CD tools: Azure DevOps Pipelines, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.
- Strong scripting skills: Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
- Containerization & orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes (AKS preferred).
- Experience with monitoring tools: Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, App Insights.
Security & Networking
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and secure pipeline design.
- Solid understanding of Azure networking, firewalls, NSGs, VNETs, and DNS.
- Experience managing SSL certificates, load balancers, and domain configurations.
- Certifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Associate
- Any relevant Kubernetes or security certifications.
- Experience in:
- Energy, infrastructure, or mission-critical SaaS platforms.
- Implementing blue-green or canary deployments.
- Supporting SOC 2, ISO 27001, or GDPR compliance.
