Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute database backups, disaster recovery procedures, and failover strategies to ensure business continuity and minimize data loss.
  • Automate database administration tasks, such as patching, upgrades, and routine maintenance, to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to understand application requirements and provide database support.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, including performance problems, data corruption, and connectivity failures, in a timely manner.
  • Stay current with the latest database technologies and trends, recommending and implementing new features and improvements to enhance database capabilities.
  • Manage database capacity planning, forecasting future storage needs, and scaling database resources to accommodate growing data volumes.
  • Document database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure consistent operational practices.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, providing a strong foundation in database principles.

  • Holds relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), or similar, demonstrating expertise.

  • Offers a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in database administration, showcasing a proven track record of successful database management.

  • Demonstrates experience working in the financial services industry, showcasing understanding of data security and regulatory compliance.

  • Exhibits advanced proficiency in SQL, database design, and performance tuning techniques, enabling efficient data management.

  • Demonstrates experience with database migration processes, including planning, execution, and validation, showcasing ability to handle complex projects.

  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills, effectively conveying technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
